Smart
The Smart automobile brand belongs directly to Daimler AG, having been formed in Biel in 1994 as the Micro Compact Car AG. The idea of realising the production of a car even smaller in scale than the VW Polo class is not all that recent. It was a thought which the automobile industry had been addressing since as long ago as the beginning of the 1980’s and finally came to fruition in the form of the foundation of Smart Gmbh by Mercedes-Benz in 2003. Smarts have now become a firmly established part of the road traffic scene and offer enough car for comparatively little money, especially in major cities where space is tight.
